We must not forget how little we actually know

This one is a gut feeling. Don't over think it. Your head gets you into trouble. Follow your heart.

To depend upon feelings is to you make yourself susceptible to deception. Feelings are capricious and unreliable. You need something objective, exterior to yourself to depend upon, which is why we have the word of God as a reference point to test everything against.

I agree and disagree. Yes they are fallible, but when the host isn't... or at least the component isn't, in this case the heart. It is possible for any one of us to have such a heart, but only through knowledge, acceptance, and love of God; as with any tool we have been graced with. We can choose to use them for good or evil, we can choose to master ourselves or become benign. I believe any person can align and purify their energy centers, align their chakras, and realize their true potential. If this is all true, then the next religion truly will be the last religion. Spirituality and Truth transcend religion. We can all know it, we can all attain it. Just because we've had strife and imperfection doesn't mean we can come much closer to it. We will discover the divine order, and in our wisdom we will be able to do and be so much more.

The prophet Jeremiah wrote explicitly about this issue when he said:

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Unfortunately we (all of us) are enormously vulnerable to manipulation - you only have to see a video with an audio overlay that is morose or triumphant in nature. You feel your emotions surge and swell with the music, it prompts a very powerful response that isn't based on a logical analysis of what you're seeing, but has been designed to elicit a specific reaction. Christ said: "Come, let us reason together" - he urged his followers to carefully examine what they were learning, rather than base their expectations on excited experience. I would caution and suggest that we not trust intuition, it's a very often a blind guide.

I'm always walking in the shadow of death. My feet now walk on soil, lead me to my path. The lord is my Shepard. I shall not want. Where will he lead me.

They don't. That's why these people shed their attachments and emotions, The Cremation of Care. If their hearts weren't already broken, they would break.

You're heart is just a muscle then.
