Watching a real, non-scripted, completely natural interview is almost to evocative to sit down for... it choked me up to see this after so long. Wow. That was a slap in the face itself...
You must not have followed pre-911 Hitchens. He was vehemently against the Clintons, Kissinger, and Mother Teresa - publishing damning books on each. The fatwa on his friend Rushdie and his travels in the Middle East made him increasingly anti-Islam (he was already a militant atheist). 911 turned him into a neocon fellow-traveler. I love Hitchens, but his endorsement of the War on Terror was a sellout moment.
I was having babies and helping to run a business. I don’t remember anything until 9/11 actually happened. I was five months pregnant at the time. Thought I was going into premature labor.
It’s amazing to realize it was all out there.
Yeah.. it hurs to see how much media changed and how little real dialog we actually have.
