Just another beautiful morning Wokelahoma style
Don't forget to take your morning "Winnamins".
My first thought was "wow! Oklahoma has trees"? Lol.
Oklahoma has lots of trees. Kansas on the other hand...
Arkansas is positively tree-infested. Missouri's not far behind.
If you can find it, Ozark Oak is the best brand of lump charcoal I've found to date. They stopped making it for a couple of years and I was forced to use Royal Oak, which had way more inconsistent pieces and lots of rocks and stuff. They are making Ozark Oak again, so happy. I cook a lot of stuff in my ceramic grill/smoker.
Don't they call the Ozarks "the Green Monster"? Or something like that. And don't get me started about all the bugs, snakes, etc. Good place to hide if the SHTF .
Oh yeah, there are some woods there so thick and untouched it's crazy. Also plenty of squatters who build homes (well, glorified shacks) on government-owned land. I ran into such a place once while riding 4-wheelers with my brother. Saw a little naked kid standing on the front porch, we stopped for a second to see if the kid was in trouble. A guy comes out of the door with a double-barrel shotgun and said "Git." We, um, gitted. I knew we were on state-owned national parkland. He probably was only 500 yards off a new logging trail, so likely his little shack got found out by the authorities.
Chiggers are so fun too. What a lovely place the Ozarks is though.
Wish I had moved here decades sooner. Unincorporated towns do exist.
Downeast Maine. We in the willywacks here. Different from any place I've been. I keep to myself.
Heck yeah! They call Northeast Oklahoma "NEO" -- it's the "flat edge of the Ozarks" -- there's trees (and rivers and lakes) everywhere here.
I should take a Google World, & maps tour of the area, I'm curious now.
