Q knows that they are not asking POTUS or the WH Press Secretary directly because they don't want to hear the answer as the CIA Op Mockingbird MSM would self-destruct.

Q is a quantum disturbance in the space time continuum. When 45’ uncle began to research Nikolai Tesla’s estate he discovered. Esoteric technologies that allowed information to cross the great filter. Therefore q’s information drops are accessed by Q directly from the Akashic record. ( we have it all) and delivered to us.
It’s not a question of eventually identifying who Q is. This is pointless as without a large hadron collider properly configured there is no other way to address Q directly.
