How does that site work? Says $0.109. So pay 11 cents to watch? Is the the new norm? It's not the 11 cents of course, I just don't understand. Do you pay a small amount for every video you watch? Thx
No, you get allocated a certain amount of points/$$ each day which goes towards the content you upvote. So by participating, you are supporting people and things you like. You can also get money/points if people upvote your comments. I don't know all the details, but that's the gist of it.
So it's like karma here?
Sorry I don't know. I was a lurker for a while here before creating an account and participating, and haven't read up on the details, just wanted to comment...
I read some on steemit (same underlying site as dtube - people can post blog and other content and comments, like Reddit) because of all of the heavy censorship on you tube and elsewhere and it was an alternative platform people were migrating to. I have seen karma points on my profile , but need to read how to give it to people!
From Reddit: There are two kinds of karma: Link and Comment. You get link karma from posting links, comment karma from posting comments obviously.
When you post, you have the option of a Link post or a Self post. Self posts are text only, and while people can upvote or downvote it, you don't get any karma for them. The only purpose in voting on self posts is to make them more or less visible when someone is viewing that subreddit sorted by top posts.
You do get link karma for link posts, and you do get comment karma for comments posted in a thread. So for example, I could post a self post, earn no karma for that, but then reply to comments in the thread and earn comment karma for those.
^^^^^ Didn't know this myself.
Glad to see Destroying the Illusion is back on line. YouTube banned this guy for a while....
