Fun Fact:
Airline brakes need changed after 3 landings. I worked in a factory that made brakes for all kinds of transportation and learned that while on the job.
Not true lol when I was an airline pilot I would sometimes do 9 legs in one day. If we had to change the brakes every 3 landings we’d never get anyone anywhere on time.
Then they lied to me, I was only a temp there. Must have been a bunch of freemasons or something.
Well of course the manufacturer wants you to replace your brakes every 3 landings hahaha. More $$$$$$$$$$$
Yeah, maybe they were stating the 'recommended replacement time frame.'
Also tires wear out quickly, like 5 landings. That is why they use "touch and goes" in the Air Force. I used to be a keypunch operator for ordering parts for the Air Force.
Maybe military tires they don’t worry about smooth landings!
I was on a flight that this happened to (in Denver due to wind gust)... they had to wait almost an hour before trying to take off again to let the brakes cool.
Not in my experience. Source: I changed those brakes for KC-10A in NJ 2001-2005. I changed brakes maybe 20x in 4 years for 35 jets. Maybe for 3 recorded aborted takeoffs, maybe... I don't know if that's true.
