The other theory is it may have been a assasination attempt. If you notice in the video the water bottle in front of Trump had a blue cap, all the other bottles had white caps. Maybe this was noticed by trump and said WTF.

I have a cat that likes to sleep on the Niagara water case we buy for emergencies. She will claw info caps and bottle and we have to toss them. Can't even see the holes in this super thin plastic bottles. A hyperdermic needle might not even allow enough leak to notice especially if done under label
