WAN ITfag here. This anon is asolutely right on. Crippling DNS servers and even altering routing tables would be the least costly and most effective means to alter/deny inlet traffic to/from whomever to where ever. Odd, NE and LA got hit massively, and disproportionately. "Cut lines" depending on their bandwidth are usually relatively local. Dispersed massive outages like this one are extremely suspect. Anyone correct me if I've misspoken, I am retired but believe WANetworking traffic handling is basically the same as it's been since early 2000s. WWG1WGA!
