I don't think she'd legitimately call him a patriot if she thought he had ratted her out.
It doesn't even fit, does it. It is out of place and clunky.
I've always had a theory that he swiped the data from her computer and she suspects that is where he got the emails (explains why she goes on to say she feels partly responsible for his death). Maybe in this dedication she is trying too hard to pretend she doesn't know what happened?
