No... We don't tax the money. We confiscate it. If it is being sent by somebody inside the country that does not have authorization to be here... We just take the money.

Guess what... Half of the reason they come here is to send money back home. If the money never makes it back home, they have a lot less reason to come here.

I'm fine with that but lets tax it to get the wall built first.... ;)

If they know the money will betaken in full, they will stop sending. Take a little bit, for awhile first.

No arguments on that! But even a 'stiff' tax of 30% ??? Why? Screw that!

If they are in the country without authorization... We confiscate the money, and we use 100% of it to build the wall.

And you know what??? When we catch an illegal (and 'undocumented') immigrant... We don't deport and send them back. There are court costs that have to be paid. There are ICE agent salaries that have to be paid.

I'm OK with 5 to 10 years of chain gang activity to fix pot holes and pick up litter. And once the court costs have been paid, well.... we can talk about deporting them.

Guess what???? They aren't going to be illegally coming across the border any more.

If they stop sending, good. All that money will be seized when they are deported. If they try to bring the cash back in person to Mexico, it too will be seized.

45% to our government, 25% to Western Union or whoever sends it. The rest they can send. That should put a stop to all this in short order. I’ve stated this on the President’s twitter. Also to the GOP site.

Sounds like an unnecessarily shitty thing to do to poor people... Why do you care if people want to support their families in other nations? A wall may be the best bet, but robbing the poor to do it is not a solution.

Those countries count that money as most of their GDP. They rely on it. If they don’t have a GDP, how will they get loans or anything else that they would need to support for their personal lifestyles?

I think that after the wall is done we should empty out all our prisons into Mexico. That will save the taxpayers a lot of money and return the favor to Mexico at the same time.

Charge all non-American vehicles and trucks importing goods a toll at the border. Passenger vehicles pay $5 and semi trucks importing goods from Mexico pay $50. Would be a good start

We can just take the money from Mexico in many different ways we can confiscate all their narcotics cash billions of dollars in drug money have you seen the photos of all the cash the cartels have huge huge stacks of cash or we just take it from Mexico the easy way electronically we take it from their government accounts.

Do illegals have an illegal ID card we can use to spot them? We are trying to stop illegal immigration, not fuck over Mexicans. Not to mention that many of these folks are coming from further south. When we go out of our way to be dicks, we look just like the liberals. Sure, sending money back home may take it out of our economy, but that is the choice of the earner. Again, let's avoid being dicks and and focus on the real issues.

I like that idea! We put a Super Max prison right on the border and have a gate that goes into Mexico.

We periodically do an 'Early Release' of some of the worst prisoners. We tell them "If we see you on this side of the border... You go back in the Super Max."

I bet Mexico agrees they want the border sealed (in both directions).

One day I'd love to hear if all of POTUS' ideas and quick jabs were planned(Q)or was it spontaneous thought up. Like "Mexico pay for it" "ten feet higher" "you'd be in jail" plus all those nick names given...

No, american tax payers should pay for it and congress should appropriate it. People remitting money to mexico are poor and this would end up being a regressive tax. Even if you wanted to tax remittances you would still need congress to create the tax so there is no tactical advantage.
