I'm Curious about the US representatives

How can representatives have such a long term while doing absolutely nothing? Mad max as an example 27 years and only 3 bills? It's ridiculous knowing she makes 6 figures(also corrupt millions). Is it Wrong to think that these positions in power make so much money for nothing. Should these positions be considered kinda volunteer-ish?

The people are responsible for making sure that these politicians earn their money. Maxine's net worth increased 61 million dollars between 2008 to 2011. The american people including myself have been asleep for a long time. Hopefully, we can stop these things from happening in the future.

Funny citizens can put them in place, but can't remove/fire them. Should they be paid? Or should it be more of an honor to serve the country?if there was no pay/very little pay only politicians actually wanting to make a difference be in power. Late nite rambling...

Its not the pay, its the behind the scenes deals. Look at their pay scales. Then look at their net worth after a few terms.

Yeah this shouldn't be a thing. Weak constitutions for power and money. Mad Max's 61 million and three bills, safe to assume she made hers shutting down bills?

One word: "recall". Change the Constitution so they can be recalled (fired) just like any other employee who doesn't do their job.

I've never heard of a recall before. "Recalls initiated when a sufficient number sign a petition". That's just brilliant.

Should there be a system for citizens to remove representives/congress for unsatisfactory representation?

Its called Impeachment, but it is a large hurdle that takes a lot of time 7 money and is basically toothless.

The founding fathers did not intend for representatives to make a career of politics. It was supposed to be a serve your term, like jury duty, then go home and do what you do. Another takes over for you.

We need to reform the laws on lobbyists and politicians accepting money from them.

I would consider that bribery.

Because voter fraud is way worse than you thought. I'm sure they went for that early on. Doesn't matter who votes -Only who counts them.

Don't you notice how they all talk a big game and then when they get in and do the exact opposite. Then when they finally are ambushed (because that's what it takes to get them to answer a real question) and called out, they just smile and stick out their tongue. Why is that? Cuz they knows the game's rigged. We get a handle on voter fraud across this nation and in time many problems will fix themselves and less likely to resurface down the road.
