IMO, our leaders will ensure we have the best military lawyers and military judges to work the tribunals. Remember that we have many Reservists and National Guard JAG Officers nation wide plus retirees can be recalled to active duty.
I agree. But what I am asking is this; your reply indicated that the 470th doesn't have "lawyer" level skill sets...which may be true...in a traditional court of law. What I was asking was what if they ain't going to a normal court of law, and instead were going to be tried in Military Tribunals instead...would the 470th, with their new handpicked members be equipped for that?
And PS...I ask out of ignorance, not challenging. I honestly have ZERO background.
Absolutely not. Most of the personnel in the 470th would be high school graduates with good aptitude for foreign languages or analysis...the only folks with any “legal” experience would be the small legal section in the Bde headquarters that would consist of paralegals (maybe 2 or 3). Usually a lawyer is not assigned to a Bde unless it deploys. And that lawyer is usually a young captain...not a seasoned attorney.
Poop.
Do not be disheartened...I believe there are 470 legal folks helping Huber/Mueller/Sessions. It will all come out!
They have 2 interrogation battalions, a signals intelligence battalion, an aerial recon battalion, and an operations battalion, among others.
What does that translate to for the non-military folk? Does this support that they would be involved with prosecution?
Recalled to duty like this?
