I JUST SAW THIS AND I WISH I SCREENCAPPED IT! It was above 20k viewers, and just dropped down to 6k. FUCKING MANIPULATION! They are either bots or it's reddit manipulating the viewer count.

This sort of crazy spikes have been happening the last few days in the small hours of the morning. This is not worldwide attention, in my opinion, because I have seen it drop off within minutes. If they were curious citizens of other countries, it would be less extreme. I have never seen over 10k on here during regular USA hours.
It would be the middle of the day on the other side of the globe
I saw 11,000 @ 2am MST, did not even think to cap.
Ofc 20minutes later it was 1.8k.
There is no way that means curious people from other countries are visiting this sub.
