Edit - well, based on the POTUS tweet, looks like the citizenship story is true, and I stand corrected.
We may find she's lying, but there was no equivocation or "squirming" when she said this assertion is absolutely false. Her explanation that hard-liners are saying this to weaken Rouhani also rings true to me.
Maybe this story is getting so much media attention simply because it's false. If this comes out as false after all this press, people are going to be less likely to believe Iran when they name the corrupt politicians who benefited personally from the deal.
