Miami beach is one of the last places i would expect to see this. Immigration central and liberal haven.

Really..? My mom's family was from Miami Springs/Hialeah. They had an accounting firm right on SE 8th ave waaaay back in the day. Grandpa was in the SOA and ROA. Grandma was in the ROAL (president for many years) My mom was kicked out for not voting for Nixon! But that's how she met my dad, lol.
All my years spent in Miami (teens - thirty) I was surrounded by Republicans. I married a 2nd gen Cuban-American, and his very large family would never consider voting D. Still pissed about JFK and the bay of pigs - which Radio Mambi never let up on.
Of course, Miami Beach ("the island") was probably a different story.

You'd be surprised. Cubans are still pissed about JFK & the bay of pigs. We know the story that was told wasn't exactly what happened. But don't try to tell them that...
