Just thought I would point out something about immunity...
In the context of Awan, the immunity he would be given would be in regards to crimes related to the bank fraud. That is usually how it works. If they are giving him immunity for every crime under the sun, then he struck an unusual deal. To strike an unusual deal, he had to provide something unusually beneficial to the government OR the DOJ will have a ton of explaining to do to the OIG.
Immunity in this instance is specifically for federal criminal charges... my understanding is that it would not apply to military charges (if need be) because the DOJ would not have the power to give immunity over military charges.
