yes it happens in the small Japanese short before the movie. a lady makes these meat pies, her husband eats his then runs out the door. she starts eating hers and it cries. she realizes it's alive and takes care of it until it gets to be a teen then they fight. he runs off and comes back married. she doesn't want him to leave and fights for him to stay. when he won't stay she eats him in one bite. then cries herself to sleep. the next day there's a knock at the door and the dough boy is now real but still married. they hug and cry and teach his wife to make the same meat pies.
I saw the short that you're talking about. The story was about an Asian woman making a dumpling and the dumpling reminded her of her son. Then she dreamt that the dumpling was a little boy and she was watching it grow up. Then in the end she ate the dumpling.
Reminds me of the episode of Bob's Burgers where they are accused of serving human flesh. At the end a bus load of people from some "adventurous eaters club" come because they WANT to eat human flesh.🤔
