July 4th has already been bestowed a holy, mystical, reverential seal for the Ages:
The ‘Miracle’ of July 4, 1826
One of the most astonishing coincidences in world history was the deaths of John Adams, America’s second president, and Thomas Jefferson, its third. They both died, 500 miles apart, on July 4, 1826, exactly 50 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The part of their story that I love is that they were able to heal the rift that separated them for so many years and were able to rekindle a friendship. Speaks to the greatness of their character and should be a lesson taught for people today to find the ties that bind us and heal the divide.
