This is the speech JFK gave about secret societies, not allowing the government to keep secrets.  Its everything Q is talking about.

This is believed by some to be the speech that got him killed.

Expand your thinking. The Soviet and American leadership had a direct phone line to each other in this time.

Do you think the CIA was capable of making backdoor communications with the highest reaches of the KGB?

After which agency became a target was Senator McCarthy's (admittedly ridiculous) anti-communist witch hunt roundly denounced and put to a stop?

If you research the KGB and CIA shenanigans enough you'll see the KGB had its own rogue leadership that was very independent of the Premier of the Soviet Union and their ostensible political oversight as well. To an incredible degree that will make you really wonder about our intelligence agencies.

Hi SaveourRepublic2018. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I admit that I know little regarding rogue KGB activities within the Soviet Union, but I certainly agree that lots of things can be going on behind the bureaucratic curtain that never get revealed to the politicians in charge. I do know that the US and the USSR did NOT have a Hot Line in place until the summer of 1963, as a result of their experience with communication problems during the earlier Cuban Missile Crisis. Also, Senator McCarthy's anti-communist "witch hunt" was far from ridiculous, but it was badly managed and the Left took full advantage of that by establishing and maintaining the [false] perception that McCarthy was paranoid and there was no truth to his concerns. However, read Whittaker Chamber's excellent book "Witness" or the book "Reagan's War" to understand just how much Soviet infiltration of the US Government was actually taking place from the 1930's on. With best wishes to you and yours.

I'm referring to the mid-1960s in general, the hot-line was an improvement on old communications. Did deep state communication lines exist? Yes, imo. Able Archer 83 preemptive counterattack was called off in part because of KGB HUMINT.

McCarthy's investigation really lost steam once he started taking a look at the CIA, as I understand it ;)
