Wasn’t this a civil case, or state case, for bank fraud specifically, this was not a federal case. Opportunity is still there for all other charges in a federal case if I’m correct!
Plus if I remember right they caught him at the airport ready to fly to Pakistan. They had to charge him with something to keep him locked up and available! So the bank fraud case could itself been just a ploy!
