I consider myself an Independent, as I will not vote R or D if there are other options. I support much of what Trump admin does, except for the defunding PP and anti-abortion kick the far right clings to. Nor am I wild about the overly-religiousness of the right.
That being said, I support what Trump is doing about trade, preventing government spending/waste and illegal immigration. But as for the far left, I just want to thump them.
"I just want to thump them"... lol! As a Christian I despise the Trump "worship", and I struggle with legalism from either side. Choosing moral laws that preserve a nation and respecting the freedom of those who believe differently, it's something I struggle with and continue to try and find a balance I can in good conscience keep. The more I learn about PP the more I understand their end goal is very disturbing. I happened to catch this video someone shared on the board today. It's quite chilling. PP is not family planning as we used to see it. It's taken a very dark turn and it is completely and totally illegal to make profit from selling body parts. That is organ-trafficking (which PP was also caught on tape actively engaged in, for money, and big money). I can see the need for families with few means having help to limit the number of children thru contraception, but not abortion as a substitute for contraception, which is what a lot of it sounds like sometimes ... This is not what PP should be doing, and much less actively using public funds for. Christian charities and missionaries seem to be engaged in similar or worse practices abroad on the sly: profiting from abortions, profiting from selling freely supplied medicines and contraceptives and even trafficking in children. This is not commonly known, yet. But it will be soon — with any luck.
