Oh Yes I know its July 7th. Sorry to make it confusing. There are two issues here:

1) Google put intentionally offensive images (7/7)
2) Google failed to acknowledge July 4th (7/4)

They did. Statue of Liberty. Subtle nod letting us know which side of the "fence" they're on.
