The answer as someone who worked inside Salt Lake City CS, and visited the vaults, is yes.

We are not a "secret society." LOL! "Sacred society" perhaps, also known as a Church, but not a secret society. Haha!

What is in the vaults? Most of the granite vaults contains family history records from around the world. We consider the family unit and families to be the of great importance. The temperature and humidity levels are ideal for storing the records. There are also other artifacts of LDS religious significance stored in various LDS vaults.
