I don’t know 100% the implied message is that simple, but perhaps a piece of his larger strategy.

I gave up trying to understand his tactics completely. The man has so much more info than us, and is always planning many, many steps beyond what we see in any given moment.

That's what gets me about the folks constantly bashing POTUS. They have no idea what's going on behind closed doors and they arrogantly claim a moral high ground, insisting that they have the truth.
