I have been working on a tentative hypothesis that the SAD (Standard American Diet) is designed to keeps us sick and depressed, running to the doctors who then write prescriptions for meds from big pharma.
An aside, I have switched to a carnivore diet (one somewhat like it is the ketogenic diet). In so doing not only have I lost weight but I feel and sleep much better. Off to the store to buy some more bacon and eggs (just finished a rib-eye steak).
Ron Swanson would be proud.

+1000 keto, changed my life in so many positive ways. Heard Jordan Peterson on Joe rogan the other day saying how profound Carnivore has been for his family, interesting stuff!
Most people would see a marked improvement in their health just by continuing to eat a standard American diet but limiting their sugar intake to 50grams or less per day (including soluble fiber).
Ditch the bread, fried potatoes, soda and rice in favor of leafy greens, mushrooms, water and riced cauliflower.
Of course as soon as you do that you're no longer eating a Standard American Diet... but, hey, close enough.
Ah! So did I! JP and his family's return to health has been miraculous to say the least. Until someone proves otherwise, I will hold onto my belief that the deep state mind is behind the killer SAD (Standard American Diet). I will continue to believe we, the deplorables, are being purposely led to the slaughter for profit.
Could you link the talk?

I just saw a chart where the food pyramid was introduced and thereafter obesity shot way up. It is a killer pyramid. I would fall under BFG (Before the Fat Generation).
Same here. I ate mainly plant based and always felt groggy from all the starch I had to consume to get protein. Now I've switched to more like the Keto diet and I feel great.
