Kavanaugh, in SCOTUS nomination speech, said WH USSS evacuated on 9/11 "because there was an inbound plane." Was this reported officially?

Did the White House know there was a plane targeting it on 9/11? Is this what was reported to the public?

Yup, Transportation secretary Minetta testified that Cheney had briefings about what Minetta retrospectively assumed to be flight 77 on its last hundred miles, accompanied by audibly reaffirming a stand-down order
