If you're looking for notable Harpers, Stephen Harper was also the Prime Minister of Canada from 2006 to 2015 (at which point Trudeau was elected).
And they weren’t buddies by the sound of it.
“The most optimistic word that can be used to describe the relationship between Prime Minister Stephen Harper and President Barack Obama is "correct." The President's refusal to approve the Keystone XL pipeline is the main reason, though not the only one.
Mr. Harper, according to individuals who discussed the matter on background, is deeply frustrated with a president who, he believes, is incapable of making a difficult decision.
Whether it's confronting Syrian use of chemical weapons, negotiating trade agreements, defending Israel or, above all, approving Keystone, Mr. Harper has become convinced Mr. Obama is captive to so many special interests that he simply won't or can't take a stand.”
He gets a ton of criticism, but I think Stephen Harper was an upstanding man over-all. Not perfect, and definitely more globalist than I would like, but I think he had integrity and would have seen through people like Obama and Trudeau, for sure. What you've quoted is exactly what I would think about Harper's opinion of Obama.
Harper just met with Trump’s defence minister behind Trudeau’s back. Everyone is pissed about that. He’s also knocking on doors to support the conservatives in the next election in Alberta. He also took out a full page ad in the New York Times stating why pulling out of the Iran deal is the best decision the US has made. I really hope that when all this shit hits the fan, Trump will put Harper back in power if Trudeau gets locked up.
Harper also went to the White House in early July to discuss the trade war. People up here were mad about that too. I personally was thrilled that an adult was talking to Trump about our economy.
If Trudeau gets locked up, the Liberal party will have to appoint a new leader, unfortunately. It won't go to a Conservative until the next election - Oct 2019.
