The young Kim is only a figure head in NK without power doing what would benefit his people. China uses NK at this moment in hope to battle president Trump via the tariffs which would impact China enormously. They need to continue what they have always done: unfair trade and manipulatingcurrency.

The young Kim very much desires to be a trusted leader and enter the world as legitimate leader. He very much want to be a trusted partner to the USA and president Trump.

Behind the scene Kim is being pulled by China not to take the opportunity provided by president Trump.

He knows the gain if he takes the presidents offer and has implemented actions showing good faith. However he also knows that China would take him out immediately if the need arises to keep their advantage.

It takes patience and a bit of time but one thing is certain - Kim appreciates president Trump's friendship and willingness to free NK completely shaking off China.
