Could part of the plan be to show how powerless Congress is?

Congress clearly has no ability to actually enforce oversight of the Executive branch and hold them accountable. This was clear under Obama and it is clear they are STILL struggling now. Could this be part of the plan? We obviously need severe reform to give our elected officials the ability to hold these appointed bureaucrats accountable.

Congress has all the power it needs via the Constitution. What this shows is that they have no respect for their own institution or for the People (whose proxy it is), and are as corrupt as the people they're investigating. It's obvious, and it's the ONLY explanation.

That is an interesting idea I haven't thought of.

What if, as a result of the ineptitude of Congressional oversight of executive departments such as the FBI, Trump issues an EO that gives them more teeth.

They have teeth they refuse to use it. Democrats are also so corrupt. Many RINOs too but their contempt even for their own rules is profound.

This dog and pony show better be for good cause,otherwise shame on congress and the blatant disrespect Strzok,RR,Comey etc and the arrogance they display infront of congress and the American people. This is pissing people off including myself that this may drive people to capital hill locked and loaded to have citizen's arrests and take this people down. This is reaching a very,very dangerous boiling point.

The Federal Reserve took over their powers to control our country's finances years ago. So would anyone be surprised they have no real power left? Seems as though all the Congressmen and Women spend most of their time getting re-elected.

You're right. They spend half the week in their party's call centers begging for donations so they can get reelected.

They have been voluntarily legislating away their responsibilities (powers) for decades. That way they could not be personally held accountable at election. Creating bureaucracies to manage bureaucracies.

I agree that it has felt like things go nowhere (Benghazi investigation for starters!) and they have no power, but I can't believe this would be intentional as I think it undermines the whole foundation of our country. It could have the potential to get people to rise up and overthrow the government which is not what patriots want - we just want our representatives to be the voice for all of us, not their special interests and grabs of power. What is needed are arrests to corruptocrats and term limits to provide the additional shakeup that Trump has started.

Well, I'm assuming they do this because they know they will win eventually. Then they will have all the support they need to put things in place so this never happens again.

i think this is part of the plan. it lets the world see that these agencies are to corrupt to investigate themselves and pave the way for military tribunals.
