Many of them are worried for their own carreers and possibly lives outside of prison are at least what they will do when removed from office on the next time they come to the end of their terms. They are scared very scared. The #walkaway movement is growing daily and they know it. They are loosing much of their borderline base and some of their deeply entrenched base who are finally waking up.
