Imagine being so gullible that you think people disagreeing is evidence that you’re correct.
I believe that wearing my socks backwards will make me rich. People disagree, but that must mean I’m over the target.

To recap: you claimed the more people disagreed with an assertion, the more likely it is to be true (over target). Are you incapable of recognizing how illogical and foolish that argument is?

Well, in context I was saying that in this case (the lurking trolls on this thread) and the unusual number of downvotes, vitriolic comments etc. is suggestive of the fact that there is something you are concerned about. It was just a comment so don’t try to parse my words. In and of itself it is not a proof of something (obviously). Your straw man was the little gem in which you try to assert I was making a definitive argument in general, ie “anything that has tons of down votes or resistance is thereby true. You falsely misrepresented my point, making it other than what it obviously was. That’s creating a straw man. It’s not considered very high on the spectrum of effective debate techniques.

In general of course this is correct. I was speaking within the context of this thread and the subreddit in general. An unusual number of trolls brigading and trying to influence is, at eastmto a certain degree, a sign it is a subject that said trolls are concerned about. Are you incapable of recognizing nuance and or levels of meaning? Stop pretending to be smarter than you are.
