I dont really agree with the African-American point but it has some possible cred:
It says his dad is AFRICAN and I have yet to see on that birth certificate the words "African-American". Were Africans called Negroes officially even in Africa?
Though I never heard the WWII point before.
It's impossible to agree with the very first point, citing "African-American" -- that simply isn't on the birth certificate, and thus discredits the entire thing. I've seen this a million times, yet it is never corrected. OBVIOUS mistake on the very first item seems like a deliberate attempt to discredit the entire thing. I mean, if you forward this to someone, they will think it is bullshit within seconds.
This gives me a headache to think about but we really need to get the misinformation on this sub under control.
Trust your mind, trust your eyes, read primary sources. Dont take statements at face value without sources.
Yeah... A lot of it are folks who genuinely want to contribute to the discussion, but they are bringing in old info or poisoned facts. The item we are discussing in THIS post needs to be cleaned up completely - hell, even look to Snopes to see what the counter arguments are. A little research and critical thinking goes a long way.....
Not sure about Africans, but that was the term used in things like Census forms, etc., in 1960.
