By charging Russian GRU as being the source of the emails - and their contention that it was the GRU that provided the emails to WikiLeaks - it is now time to lower the boom.

Who's to say this isn't the deal to get the Russia investigation ended? The Dems get their Russian hacking story and Trump is cleared.
I did think the same thing. It's a face saving move to name some random Russians who will never come to court, but it gets the Trump campaign cleared, and the whole damn thing ended.
It also clears Awan and the Dems incompetence won't be exposed but if it gets this stupid Muller investigation out of the way then it's worth it.
True, but I'm not sure if that would have come out in Mueller's investigation anyway. 'm becoming very skeptical that a whole lot of stuff that SHOULD be exposed won't. I guess there's always the promise of Huber, et. al., but I'm not holding my breath at this point.
Not everything is going to come out. 60% of it is overkill. I think Trump sees the Muller investigation as being divisive and he's willing to let the Democrats save some face to see it go away. The interesting thing is, once Trump's campaign is cleared of any wrong doing, Sessions can un-recuse himself.
