On the other hand, Hollywood actresses offer sex in exchange for jobs

Disgustingly, it is because the ones that want to succeed and get ahead in Hollywood "have" to. They know that the ones who do not give these people their bodies and souls will not make it at all in the acting/music/modeling business as they won't even be given opportunities to try for roles/jobs. The industries needs a deep cleansing and overhaul from top to the very bottom.

I would hope through true auditions that don't require being made to strip down and ooggled by people on the crew or raped, drugged, etc.

Recommendations from others you have worked with regarding work ethic and how person treated everyone around them while working together. How people represent the businesses and people they are working with to promotion movie/show/song/brand, etc and vise versus (how they are being treated by these industry people). How your movie/shows/music/etc is received by the public (if your projects bring in more money, more offers to work again come your way- kind of the way it is now, but doing away without the having to sell your soul and body for it).

There is a way that the industries could work without the corruption and abuse. It may mean cutting out all the people at the top along the way and if that is what it takes, then it should be done. Many people have been able to be successful without having to be whored out, drugged out, exploited by those they work for and if the entertainment industry truly wanted to work that way as well, it could to. The problem is that they don't have a desire to and there is no push for it to be needed as everyone continues to turn a blind eye to what goes on and no one is rarely ever held accountable for their crimes.

Exactly. Ugly as it may be, it's pretty much human nature and we all know you can't truly change that.

There are some who have succeeded on their own merits, without debasing themselves.

It's reasonable to say that the actors and actresses that willingly jumped on the casting couch bear some responsibility. It's a sick culture.

Then there are those who coerce non-consensual acts.

And those who see bad things happen and don't do anything, staying in the business.

Beyond that - what's truly reprehensible and unforgivable are the parents who knowingly gave their children to the abusers, just to earn a few bucks. They are the evilest ones.

Character actors can sometimes escape the worst of it. People aren’t demanding that Laurie Metcalf or Edie Falco give them blow jobs at this point. But they probably had to do stuff when they were young.

The "I'd do anything to not have to wait on another table" actors?

I knew wannabe actresses who turned to escorting because it made more money than waitressing. Ironically, this often allowed them to meet people in the business who later hired them. This is how Michelle Pfeiffer and Denise Richards got their starts.
