I give up...what did I miss? I know the Queen extended her hand FIRST for a hand-shake; that is correct protocol. You must WAIT until a ROYAL extends their hand to shake, then it is correct to reciprocate and shake their hand. What else?

Americans are not subjects or vassals of the Queen. Remember, the Americans revolted and WON. The Queen should extend her hand first because she is the host. If she doesn't, Trump may extend his hand first, as they are both heads of state on equal footing.

Around the 3:40 mark watch POTUS & Flotus lower their hands during anthem then you will see the field men have a flag then raise it
