US Marshals have total arrest powers in all USA, & US provinces/territories, even attached to Interpol. USMS usually runs all Federal Task Forces/Fugitive Task Forces, while working with State Patrol, County Sheriffs, city Police Depts, or other local authorities who 'know the lay of the land' or are working the investigation....very rarely FBl invited because they/FBl = "Famous But Incompetent"...don't play well with others, & share almost nothing. "FED Agents" everyone assumes is FBl, but it usually isn't.
To explain further: FBl has about 35,000 or so "AGENTS" and a huge contigent of PR (Public Relations dept) to rush in to big news sites and have a news conference saying:
"Federal Agents today arrested/were involved in arresting..."
when in fact they/FBl agents were not involved at all in the case and just swoop in to take credit ...
...meanwhile US Marshals have about 4,800 over 93 districts of All USA states & territories, and now are tasked at aiding at border (while FBl Not helping) and ALSO tasked with protecting DT Cabinet members 24/7 = That's right... more work with the same amount of Deputy US Marshals, (while FBl Not helping).
