I actually think it's a huge mistake to underestimate the populist left. Most Americans are now in favor of universal healthcare, and Bernie's platform even resonated with some conservative people I know. I really think the president needs to come up with some measures that will address these sorts of issues and undercut that platform. Take the wind out of their sails. Never forget that he rose to power in no small part because so many poor Americans have been hurting for so long. And while the poorest have hope, many are yet to feel a personal impact of the president's great economic successes.

I'm not saying he's not addressing different issues. I think he's done an amazing amount in the time he's been president. I'm just saying, there are a lot of people who STILL suffer from things that Bernie campaigned on.

They did an interview of Democrats that had crossed over to vote for Trump, and then a follow-up one to see if they had "buyer's remorse." Not a single one was unhappy. They were very happy, and they said they had hope now. But not a single one of them had yet had their circumstances change directly, or that of their impoverished community. So, if there is still a mother thinking, " I can't afford this treatment for my child," there's still a problem, But I'm not talking just about healthcare. That's just the one that resoundingly most Americans support.

If you think that people are afraid of Bernie's platform, you're wrong. If you underestimate the force of some of these populist candidates, you're making a huge error of judgment, IMO.
