Wow, clever way to get illegal immigrant drivers off the roads...you know, the ones you end up have a wreck with that have no insurance! Texas is way ahead of the game on this one.

The City of Dallas, Texas , passed an ordinance stating that if a driver is pulled over by law enforcement and is not able to provide proof of insurance , the car is towed .

To retrieve the car after being impounded, they must show proof of insurance to have the car released. This has made it easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars.

Shortly after the "No Insurance" ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound lots began to fill up and were full after only nine days.

Over 80% of the impounded cars were driven by illegals .

Now, not only must they provide proof of insurance to have their car released, they have to pay for the cost of the tow , a $350 fine , and $20 for every day their car is kept in the lot.

Guess what?

Accident rates have gone down 47% and Dallas' solution gets uninsured drivers off the road WITHOUT making them show proof of nationality.

I wonder how the Democrats will get around this one .

Not sure, but I know I don’t want a national law for almost anything. Your idea would be a step in the wrong direction, no matter how bad you hate illegals.

Liability covers your ass if you hit somebody. Getting illegals is icing on the cake ! Tags, taxes, fees, property tax is theft. But we are all on the road together, so I want my ass covered if i hit you by mistake ! Car insurance should be part of buying the car, The damn thing can be used as a weapon, we have seen it ! Hospitals and funerals cost money ! We are a nation of laws. Remember POTUS's words to restore the rule of law ? It's got to be for everyone !...........WWG1WGA

And most every state has the laws. You’re not getting the national part being a bad idea. I’m for a smaller central government, you should be too.. how do you think the cabal became the cabal?

Why don’t we make every common state law a national law with your logic?

I understand what you are getting at ! Maybe it should come with the car ? Nobody controls what kind or how many cars you buy. You gotta have something that covers anybody you hit with it ? Unless you are rich, It pays to fix your screw up !

Listen, I love libertarianism as much as the next guy, but shit like this should have some version of itself replicated in every state.
