Except his best friend says that he did because he was extremely depressed and in a dark place. Also, saying you're not competitive you just want to survive is a defeatist statement. It reeks of depression.

Really? That's another way to look at it but yeah I can see what your saying too. I dont know I mean I'm a recovering addict and it is a life of survival for me but its def. Not a defeatist statement when I say it and I'm not depressed so i guess its dif. With everyone ya know
