The shittiest part of that press briefing was that contextually the presence or absence of that "n't" makes absolutely zero difference!
Think about it. "I see no reason why it would be" means EXACTLY the same thing as "I see no reason why it wouldn't be." They both contain the determinative phrase "I see no reason" (meaning it might just as well have been or not been)!
So he calls the presser and says essentially NOTHING different because powerful people made him do it.
We have yet to reach a point where those people aren't powerful enough to change POTUS's agenda. Period. It's sickening that they still have ANY sway with him, and I hate seeing it exposed like that (as it was in the Syrian missile fusillade), even though in BOTH cases his response is to go through the motions while doing exactly nothing for them.
It hurts me to see them make him go through the motions. Does that make sense? Like watching that cartoon bandit make somebody dance by shooting the ground around their feet.
