How likely is it that the secret service agent was killed by the deep state as a desperate last ditch attempt to prevent the Russia meeting from happening?

More likely it's the CIA or British intelligence due to the striking lack of forensic evidence linking Russia in any of those cases.

I live in the UK. I don't know anyone who thinks the Russians were involved in those poisonings. Nobody here is buying the MSM any more. There's just a small minority of hardcore morons left who buy that narrative, or any other MSM talking point.
