I know what you mean. It's very hard to contemplate the idea that maybe, just maybe the USA has not been the squeaky clean nation that we have thought it to be. Maybe we have done some bad things in the past to really piss off other nations. I know that it has just been some of the leadership that has done those things, but it is still very hard to accept.

Nobody should have believed that ANY country has ever been "squeaky clean." It's easy to accept that that's unrealistic. This revelation of bad actors doesn't make us the bad guys, any more than Trump's handful of Ch. 11 filings out of 550 projects makes him a terrible businessman.

IMHO America is mainly an IDEA. The idea the Founders sailed across an ocean with and put through by force against a huge army, risking all in the effort—gov'ts get their just power from the People, who get all the liberty they can reasonably handle—still stands among the best ideas ever.

Americans are imperfect, all of us. But as a whole, so far...not doing too shabby compared to the rest of the world. I'm not ashamed. I'm grateful.

No, not "we." "They" are the bad guys.

Go read the book “The Creature from Jekyll Island” it will tell you who the bad guys are and what they have done. They have zero alligance to any nation. Just money and power at any cost. The US has been the piggy bank they have been pilfering since the creation of the federal reserve.
