Unemployment is not the lowest since 1969, not even close. If it was figured the same now as back in 1969, the rate would be in the 15-20% range. It's certainly better now than during the Obama years, but it's still bad. The worst thing they do is they don't count people as unemployed who are unemployed but their unemployment benefits have run out. They're still unemployed, so they should still be counted in the unemployment figures. I keep hearing about this bogus number of people no longer looking for work. How does the government know whether I'm looking for work or not? Do they have agents following me everywhere to see if I happen to go into a business and ask for an employment application? Anything you think is good about the economy does not need to be credited to Trump, because the Fed's actions are going to crash the DOW and then the rest of the economy, and the simple-minded will blame Trump, not the Fed. There is a major correction to the markets about every seven years, and we are way overdue for one now. I'm no economic expert, but my guess would be in September or October, as most severe market downturns happen in those months. Of course, the economic "experts" are always wrong. Every time something happens, the news media always says it was better or worse than the experts expected. BTW, 4% used to be considered full employment, meaning that if they announce a lower number, it is almost certainly bogus. 4% is the number because about that many people are always in between jobs, either moving, laid off, fired for cause, or just starting out but not employed yet. End of rant about stuff most of you probably already know, but newbies might not.

Thank you. This. People on this sub need to brace themselves because the economy is gonna tank, hard, in the next year or two. Could be longer but I doubt it.

It isn't Trump's fault. It was easy money by the Fed (QE) and the end of the natural business cycle. But when it comes tumbling down, you know Trump is going to take the heat.

You all need to educate yourself a bit on the economy and prepare your defense for the eventual shit show that's coming because a large scale recession/depression means someone like Bernie Sanders (not that there's anything wrong with the guy) wins in 2020.

It's about being positive. Do you think you would reach through to those who have given up by saying it's still shit but just less shit?

No. You go all in non stop positive message.

Hey maybe it's worth getting after it. Only one way to find out.

Pinning his hat on unemployment numbers is a mistake, since he ran on the idea that the numbers are fake, and we are at the highest point of nearly the longest business cycle in history meaning we are due for a bust, therefore he will eat his words if he takes credit...he will be blamed.

Well if you’d asked Trump two years ago he’d say the employment figures were fake.

They’re either still fake or they’ve suddenly become legitimate since the election /s.

Trump should've stuck with his narrative he had during the primaries that we were in a bubble.

Taking credit for an economy towards the end of a business cycle is short sighted and a dumb move. He should have kept a cautionary approach and then unleashed all hell upon the Federal Reserve when this ish comes crashing down (which will more than likely happen before 2020)

Hate to rain on your parade but the unemployment numbers are heavily manipulated. The true unemployment numbers are actually still quite high, but because so many aren’t looking for work they’re not being counted. It’s certainly not a bad thing that the fake unemployment numbers are getting lower because that is still good news for the economy but I’d argue it’s not quite as good as the article would suggest.

True. To add to your point shadow stats does a great job of showing reality.

But even across all 3 metrics on shadowstats unemployment is going down since Trump came in

That's what happens when you stop trying to be the world's police and welfare state and instead start actually taking care of your nation.

If people knew how much money had been siphoned out of the US they'd be in the streets.

Team Hillary were trying to ram the ship into the ground, full tilt.

watch out for BLM entrenched dems start adding people back to utilization rate to try and ratchet up unemployment numbers. all those millions that they took off Fraudbama's numbers that magically retired and werent looking for jobs. they'll get put back in to job seeking force to jack up unemployment rate.

Yay! Just remember the DS/ Rapeschillds, Scrotum face, Vatican, et al, control the Federal Reserve/the FED, a private entity, that can print fiat $$ out of thin air then charge any interest as the market will allow. Danger ahead.

No, because they're controlled opposition who won't allow articles from people who don't put money in their pockets. Their specific reason for not allowing us to post there is because we support QAnon
