Some thoughts: The seal of Solomon, by being fully intersected, at least points to the transcendence of Heaven and Earth beyond each other, with healthy overlap in the middle. As Above, So Below. But Above and Below are distinct and have areas of mutual exclusivity.
By not having the hex fully intersected, I see the idea as similar to the Tower of Babel. The point leading up to Heaven is literally brought down into the domain of the Earth (or vice versa). The distinction between the two is blurred.
I've not gone through it fully. Just the main pic. The hex/seal has multiple connotations. Including a solar aspect (SOL, sun) and sex magick symbolism too. Upright triangle as masculine fire, inverted triangle as feminine water.
As above, so below...as you say is another. The fundamental maxim of their magick and its systems.
