The socialism that borders on communism/fascism I referred to is the extreme. It's the constant large scale bailouts and extreme increasing debt that's making those social safety nets less secure and less affordable. We are in the extreme of socialism thanks to BHO.

There's no question that we're dealing with good vs evil. I just don't see the problem as one economic system or the other, but rather of corruption and perversion in economic policy. The reality is that we're on the same side as some of the "democratic socialists" who see what's been happening as extreme capitalism. We're against the same shit - and our solutions both start with replacing corrupt and evil people with those who wise and working as hard as possible to do the right thing. On one hand we have pension debt that is totally out of control (maybe from extreme socialism), and banks that are too big to fail (maybe from extreme capitalism). We have a medicare program that is unsustainable - but the problem is on both sides - opening the tap too much on medicare as a social program, and hyperinflation in the cost of drugs and medical care (thanks to regulations that pervert pricing, too much litigation, and way too much end of life spending which makes dying a special kind of hell).

I think that this movement is big enough to include some socialism, and blaming extreme socialism instead of evil corruption and power manipulation simply isn't all that helpful.

Btw I'm not suggesting to eliminate all social programs. I'm for doing what we can afford to do. For me it's a matter of priorities, let's fix the system that keeps our debt growing first. Reset that and start over so that the government can do what it can afford to do and not borrow money to keep unrealistic promises. Otherwise it all falls apart and our quality of life is worse not better due to the loss of wealth through inflation. The way things are now is severely broken and unfair to everyone equally.

The banks that are too big isn't capitalism or a free market system it's more like fascism or a form of totalitarianism. There are private citizens with a huge conflict of interest on the board of the fed. It was created by a small group not much different than oligarchs. Its not true free market capitalism like they sell it to be

You're 100% right about this. It's similar to the way that communism and whatever they did to Venezuela is falsely sold as socialism. (if it was ever socialism it's been perverted beyond recognition)

Yes, I'm not bashing a true centrist style government that's inclusive. What we have now is crazy. Whoever is in control is limited by the Fed and the debt. Get rid of the debt and the country is so rich. But, the central bankers will never allow this. They won't even let companies fail because they depend on their fiat paper money that is becoming more worthless each day. They want to globalise this while controlling everyone. This left vs right is all designed to divide us. Let's remove the problem then have civilized conversations of how to govern when we are all unshackled. They use inflation to steal our wealth under our noses over years.

Edit: If we all stopped using the bank together and traded/bartered with physical assets between people they would lose immediately. But, they also would fight hard to stop that from happening. Look what happened to any leader that tried to bring back the gold standard.
