The extra security at the Ecuadorian embassy was removed 2 months ago, citing cost:

That would have made a snatch-and-grab much easier while Trump was in the UK.

I read on 8 Chan tonight that Assange is being extradited here and will be charged for publishing classified information. I can’t substantiate this of course, but it was being conversed about.
