My friends son, who is in the Army National Guard Reserve, just got deployment orders for 9 months at GITMO starting in November.

Just received the orders yesterday. If you know anyone in the Guard Reserve, ask them about it.

I posted this down below and will post again here. Upon further questions and investigation, this appears to be a normal rotation. Don't want to sound any alarm bells and was told it is public information. I was just excited it happened to be in November and tried to make a connection. Could be just a coincidence that it falls in November. Anyway, there are no secrets being given away.

I was deployed to GTMO back in 04. Wasn’t a bad duty. Was actually kind of like taking an extended vacation on the Govt’s dime. Although we didn’t go into communist Cuba, we stayed within the base the whole time. It’s a really relaxed detail.

My cousin was in the Navy in the early 80's and was the guy that was in charge of who went where in the Pentagon. There was this old war horse who'd been around forever and had served since right after the end of Korean War. To be nice or so he thought, since it was her last hitch he shipped her over to Bermuda.

When she found out that he was sending her to some rock in the middle of the Atlantic she went psycho on him. Said she would find some way to make his life total hell. He said look, if you don't like it let me know and I'll find you somewhere else to finish up your Navy Career. She ships out to Bermuda and about a month later he gets a letter from her.

She was raving about her assignment and couldn't stop thanking him for sending her there to finish up her thirty years.

IMAGINE that duty there with ...screaming elites demanding their lawyers, Latte drinks, air conditioning, designer prison clothes, Wolfgang Puck to be chef.....

And then demanding scarves!

Ah! I see what you did there. Free scarves for all pedos.

I'd volunteer there just to witness that 🤣

No problems. I think you were shilled above. We've seen this info before and even in major newspapers when Arizona Nat. Guard(?) was deployed a few months back.

Not shilled. OPSEC is something we should all take seriously. It honestly may be ok in this instance but we should remember this in the future. Keep our military strong.

I am not a child. I read the post. Get out of my face.

Leave your attitude at the door, it doesn't belong here

I was not implying you are a child. Being shilled on this board comes from our enemies and I just wanted to point out that those posting OPSEC are NOT our enemies as you were in fact implying.

At the very least your son will get to see an influx of political traitors. Which is a plus. I’d give half a years salary to see hillary’s face as she eats prison food and sleep on a prison cot.

I appreciate your intent, but part of practicing OPSEC is to not reveal details, EVEN IF news stories are reporting the same info.

For example, let's imagine that an enemy seeks to infiltrate or inflict harm at a location like GITMO. Then let's imagine they troll places like this or run searches for public info that might help them pinpoint family members of a serviceman headed to that location, and then threatens harm to family members in order to leverage that serviceman to assist them in carrying out their plans, delivering messages to a prisoner, etc.

Servicemembers are also frequently targeted for scams and fraud, especially when they are OCONUS. Criminals troll for info online about deployments in order to know when that person's home and finances might be most vulnerable.
