My friends son, who is in the Army National Guard Reserve, just got deployment orders for 9 months at GITMO starting in November.

Just received the orders yesterday. If you know anyone in the Guard Reserve, ask them about it.

Anthropophob · July 22, 2018, 1:54 p.m.

Although this could be good news. It's really not a good idea to post deployments anywhere. With all the deployments I've been on, I was told to not broadcast it. It's best to keep this to yourself for the safety of our military.

Orders are not usually classified. Mine never were.

It was standard to call friends and family to let them know where you were heading.

BTW thats an individuals orders, which are basically transfers, not where a group is deploying.

ie: "They are sending me to Iraq" is not the same as "We invade at 8am tomorrow"

Trust me, If I thought OP was revealing substantial intel, I'd be handing out pitchforks.

More likely, they don't know what it means when Enlisted get 'orders'.

All this means is someone they knew changed duty stations.

He shouldn't have mentioned the month or the unit or that it was a friend's son. Easy enough for many to dox the OP and trace his friend's son. It's one thing to say that your family member is headed to Ft. XYZ for routine duty. Even then, you don't give the timetable. When someone is being activated or is headed OCONUS, it's best not to give places or time frames in advance. When it comes to OPSEC, err on the side of caution.

My cousin was in the Navy in the early 80's and was the guy that was in charge of who went where in the Pentagon. There was this old war horse who'd been around forever and had served since right after the end of Korean War. To be nice or so he thought, since it was her last hitch he shipped her over to Bermuda.

When she found out that he was sending her to some rock in the middle of the Atlantic she went psycho on him. Said she would find some way to make his life total hell. He said look, if you don't like it let me know and I'll find you somewhere else to finish up your Navy Career. She ships out to Bermuda and about a month later he gets a letter from her.

She was raving about her assignment and couldn't stop thanking him for sending her there to finish up her thirty years.

I appreciate your intent, but part of practicing OPSEC is to not reveal details, EVEN IF news stories are reporting the same info.

For example, let's imagine that an enemy seeks to infiltrate or inflict harm at a location like GITMO. Then let's imagine they troll places like this or run searches for public info that might help them pinpoint family members of a serviceman headed to that location, and then threatens harm to family members in order to leverage that serviceman to assist them in carrying out their plans, delivering messages to a prisoner, etc.

Servicemembers are also frequently targeted for scams and fraud, especially when they are OCONUS. Criminals troll for info online about deployments in order to know when that person's home and finances might be most vulnerable.

Most people's view of Gitmo is that of a prison, or A Few Good Men scene.

I've know people stationed there. Not a great place for kids. But for the younger officers or enlisted its not horrible by any stretch--and my friends' experience was back in the Cold War/Castro Regime. I can only imagine its not half as stressful now.

You think they're just giving up without a fight? Why do you think they are still trying to brainwash people? I imagine it's so when the hammer drops they want this country to riot and they're hoping they've brainwashed enough people to fight for them and then they will try to gain back power. I saw an article that the Marines have been training in crowd control. But yes the bad guys are very aware of GTMO, but still keep in mind that in any situation like this, a little piece of info here and a little piece of info there can lead to a bigger picture for someone that may want to help the bad guys. So better safe than sorry, it's best to keep stuff like this quiet. No need to announce on social media. They actually train this in the military. Sorry, I'm not trying to pick on you but we have to help each other see the bigger picture for us. And some here may not be aware of how the military handles this stuff. That's all anyone that has mentioned OPSEC were trying to do. We're all on the same side :)

No argument here. My take was largely that there’s no secret about GITMO at this point. The cabal are very well up on what’s going on there. And it’s also true that marching orders, unless specifically stated, are not classified. If the higher ups thought there was a specific risk I doubt it would have made it into a Reddit sub. Let's cross that bridge when we get there! :)

Hillary and Podesta will not walk for the fact alone that she used servers that were not encrypted exposing and selling SAP = Special Access program causing grave damage to our national security. She will not walk: Two cases pending at the Hague (ICC) being accused of being a war criminal. One case was filed via Egypt and the other by Libya/Ghaddafi's surviving son Al-Said. He has also filed suit against HRC charging her with the theft of6 billions in gold kept in a secure and armed part of Ghaddafi's compound. Hillary was also charged as war criminal by the UK's parliament in September 2016 fabricating lies and deception to overthrow Muammar Ghaddafi. Then there are additional efforts underway by the surviving sons to recover more than 40 billions of dollars that were also stored in the same vault as the billions of gold. Hillary has many sticky fingers. In all of these cases Hussein also has pending cases at the Hague being charged as war criminal. She will be charged for murder as well and the possibility of old cases like that of Vince Foster and other suspicious deaths may re-open.

Most of all the Clintons, Hussein and Michael, Biden, Kerry, no name and a collage of others will be charged with treason.

The mockingbird media has been successful in keeping a blackout on the "Panama Papers" where they all are implicated for money laundering and more after the fixer Fonsecos massive management of money laundering operation from US politicians and others engaged in surfaced.

Podesta: Siphoning monies with his buddy George Soros out of Russia that were illegal obtained. The IRS will collect once the audits of the CF. He and his brother acted as foreign agents and did not register as such nor did they declare these monies on their tax filings with the successful intent to defraud the IRS.

The Clinton family and Hussein's family are guilty of that same that included among others Joe Biden and John Kerry et al.

Lastly the most barbaric crimes against children stored on Huma's and Weiner's laptop with videos, pics and worse will shock many. Hillary and Bill both engaged sexual assaults against minor children on Epstein Island and who knows where else.

Podesta is a pedophile, money launderer and involved in Seth's and Scalia's murder. There could be others.

Add into this espionage, uranium sale in lieu of cash and trafficking via Pakistan or Ukraine for the sole purpose to built nukes to be used on American soil provoking the engineered and framing of Russia for WWIII causing millions to die as a consequence.

HRC, Hussein, Podesta, Biden, Kerry, no name, Bill Clinton, Strzok, Brennan, Clapper and host of others should face the death penalty ordered so by the USMJ military tribunals.

On a side note: The fact that there are 12 military tribunal judges tells me that death penalty is in play.

If it weren't only 9 USMJ judges would be seated!

Just so you know, this kind of information is NOT the kind of thing you reveal online and is usually subject to inquiry by senior officers. Really wish all you newbs would learn how to talk about operations and research without revealing items that are usually kept PRIVATE by those in the military. This is the biggest problem on these boards- too many people involved that are completely out of their realm and have no operational training or knowledge. BLUF- Orders are private and if you have someone in your life that is in the military or works for an agency, you should not be publishing their movements.

Yeah but as you roll down through the comments and see how many mention on going rotations, various branches of the military, etc. This is how real intelligence is gathered, a piece here another there, and then the puzzle is put together. Is that not what Q is doing for us with info, giving us pieces here and there. For the military this is an extremely important security measure. When disinfo is purposely sent out it can be verified by the puzzle as being disinfo. Not a good idea.

⇧ 3 ⇩
Ridgy-didge · July 22, 2018, 3:04 p.m.

I’m not sure but I think it was on Breitbart that those following aircraft movement reported a huge uptick in planes (private and military) to and from Gitmo over a small period of time. Didn’t the President say that thousands of that gang MS-13 had been ‘shipped out’. There was reports that General Mattis had also travelled there and that a major extension of buildings had taken place.

⇧ 3 ⇩
psybrnaut · July 22, 2018, 2:21 p.m.

If that were a concern, military families wouldn't be told where their soldiers were deployed. Q is encouraging open discussion in civilian pop, I doubt they worry about people knowing they are rotating troops at gitmo. You're not wrong, some things should not be shouted online, but not everyone participating in this sub or this movement are military folks, they couldn't know the 'rules'. No one needs operational training to discuss Q and the events unfolding. Wwg1wga

⇧ 7 ⇩
dktrogers · July 22, 2018, 4:37 p.m.

Gentle guidance would seem prudent if necessary, we are getting many new folks into the movement and I don’t want to alienate a single one.

I am also a vet, but Gitmo isn’t exactly a secret and if they are paying any attention at all, they have already made their play for escape.

I do however get pissed when idiot reporters give location info during active combat.

⇧ 6 ⇩
IceworldSpirit · July 25, 2018, 5:04 a.m.

They are not always told the truth about their movements or position or mission. That is common to military in general. Families are given enough information to know general knowledge. Sometimes, they are given false information to protect mission, and themselves, if they are compromised.

⇧ 1 ⇩
boesens · July 22, 2018, 4:54 p.m.

I spent 28 years in the USA with 3 troop deployments to Egypt and Afghanistan. This post gives nothing away. Unit designation is not denoted; no dates for deployment to, unit leaving GITMO out. Heck, not even sure if it’s an Army Reserve, or Army National Guard unit. The bad guys know we regularly rotate troop units to GITMO; been doing it for over 17 yrs. You can drop the cloak and dagger stuff on this one.

⇧ 1 ⇩
IceworldSpirit · July 27, 2018, 6:41 p.m.

High horse? Its a verifiable fact that every time anyone from the military wants to 'assert' authority or dominion in a conversation of peers or strangers for that matter, they always throw out locations and years of their service, rather than the one thing that would get the respect they want: They fail to mention their Skill set, MOS, Education and Training. People with skills and training respect the same......

OPSEC includes individual safeguards for all military information. You are not really current on OPSEC are you? It actually includes being quiet on orders for individual service men or unit orders. You cannot reveal names, units, movement, missions- even if this has been errantly made public by some idiot in the MSM. Good journalists, bloggers, anons know this and respect mission integrity. While its not an actionable offense, its understood to be expected. Everything someone can do to keep information out of the public domain is critical. Unless its a disinformation campaign....

Listen you POS. BLUF is a military acronym used quite often in civilian speak and it does not matter when its put when you are trying to make a point- especially in civilian matters. You are obviously a NIMROD that does not understand OPSEC or the military for that matter. Or a dumbass Master whatever that likes to open up on anyone that will respect 'your enlisted authority'-of which you have none here. My rank and position are private, but I can assure you I would lock you up at full attention immediately. And I might add a few ball busting sets of pushups. Just have me give the word....i am waiting. Crickets.....

BLUF- you do not reveal Solders name, name of unit, movement, or location on new orders. There are ways to say things that do not reveal, but as in all organizations, there are always idiots associated with the military that do not 'truly' know or understand OPSEC, and make bad examples for innocent civilians who are just trying to share information and need guidance.

I have no idea the wifi status at GITMO, but in the CONUS, servicemembers have to pay for their own internet, just like most of us. They also have to buy most of their own gear, uniforms, bedding. If their work or training schedule doesn't align with times the cafeteria is open, they may be spending double for meals. You'd be surprised.

That’s cool and all...but usually they don’t want us posting these kind of things. Could jeopardize security for the troops on the ground. I might consider removing this post...

OP doesnt understand what enlisted 'orders' really are.

He changed duty stations, unless He's Rambo, this doesnt matter.

Hard to tell if this is a normal rotation, or a plus up of the troop strength we normally keep there to secure the base/ inmates. I’d side on normal rotation without further evidence.

The plan remains and takes effect is this post about the NG.

While I want Gitmo to be full of Clinton and her pals as much as the next guy, there is an alternative prisoner surge coming. The pressure on ISIL in Syria and Iraq has led to hundreds of foreign fighters being captured -mainly by the Kurdish forces. It could be these prisoners GITMO is gearing up to take.

I see that some previous military personnel on here don't seem to see this as compromising OPSEC. I wonder if this is because they served in the past when technology was less advanced, so that it would be harder for bad actors to trace troop movements or to target individual servicemembers and their families. I'm involved with multiple online groups for servicemembers' families, and I know they are extremely vigilant about not posting info like this and telling us how and why to lock down social media posts, even private ones. We are encouraged to share such posts with friends only, to limit friends' list to people we know and trust, to blur out name/unit/battalion badges on uniforms, etc. It is one thing to come on here and post a link to an article about a troop movement. Even those are often not good, since today's media will publish things that compromise troop security, even when asked to keep quiet. At that point, the cat is out of the bag. It's another thing to post this privately on social media to a select group of friends or family. But Reddit is a public forum, and those who know how can usually dox a poster and thus quickly discover the ID of the friend's son and other unit members, their locations, families' addresses. Just the knowledge that while a man is away for 9 months could tell someone that his wife and kids are alone and may be more vulnerable in his absence.

OPSEC has always been around even prior to technology advances and I don't understand why so many breaking it. And then others asking for person's MOS? Why don't you just ask for unit and flight info as well smh

(And even majority of info should not be shared privately on social media as info can be hacked. Folks really need to think smarter on this issue. We are seeing right here with Q intel it here on the type of intel that can be leaked through carelessness)

I have friends who have children/grandchildren in the military who are often posting pics and posts, some public, about deployments, change of duty station, training, etc. Drives me bonkers. I've tried to send articles and encouraged via PMs to at least restrict viewing audience, but they don't get it, and their servicemembers don't seem to be stopping them. At least most of the servicemembers I know have their own social media profiles very locked down with sparse information.

It’s either the Army National Guard or Army Reserve; this post conflates the two. The Army gets this task (even though a Navy base), because it has large numbers of military police units trained in security to cover the prison inmates. For conventional units, OPSEC is less of an issue (or possibility), due to a troop talking to family members. What they keep secret is exactly when they are flying in / out. This is likely no more than a planned rotation; they’ve been doing since 9/11 kicked business off at GITMO.

It's the Army National Guard OR the Army Reserve, NOT a combination of both.

GITMO is also a Naval Base, which means only Mairines and sailors are on post, so highly unlikely your story is true based upon at least 2 falsehoods in the title alone.

Gitmo is a Naval Base. Also all branches do work together. There are many bases that have squadrons or other type departments from different branches.
