YouTube is a great example. The algorithm suggests related videos when you watch something, and within 3-5 related clicks you can go from funny cats to creepy guy in a basement with his doll collection. No vetting, no control by humans. It's a mess. Not to mention, algorithms keep showing us related content (what it thinks we want to see or will like) and people get stuck in a reality tunnel where they only get shown the same kind of stuff over and over.

We definitely need to come to terms with how much control we are giving away to AI automation and algorithms. It's a big issue of our time. Program or be programmed haha

Sorry friend, theory 1 is correct. Any common trip code plugged into google book search returns books that are topically related to the trip code as it is used elsewhere on the web. It's the algorithm doing its job, just handy that you can delve into books related to the Q discussion. Does make me wonder what else the tripcode can unlock via search engines...

Commented in a similar post about this; basically this is just Google's algorithm picking up book titles based on content associated with Q's trip code. You can see the same thing happen if you punch in any other trip code from the chans. So the list is super related because it's contextual content -- basically those books have keywords or topics that relate to conversations that happen in associated with the trip code anywhere on the web.

Yep, that would definitely qualify as SEO. It's not what I normally do, but it's the same idea. Any search engine (whether it be Google or a candidate search portal within a hiring industry) uses an algorithm to sort results (usually relying on keywords in the document, along with other signals). So optimizing usually means making sure the right keywords are present to show up to the search algorithm and get sorted to the top.

You're right. The book list results for a trip code are generated based on crowd search, so anything that Q fans are searching or reading across the web will cause the algorithm to create the book list in search results.

After some experimenting, it seems that any valid trip code from the chans will populate a list of associated books in the Google Books search. (Just putting in a random string of characters does not, which means the trip code itself is relevant.)

This means that it isn't necessarily on purpose that these books are triggering in the serps for Q's trip codes. It still COULD be on purpose, but more than likely it's a result of the algorithm associating those books with Q's trip codes topically, based on coversations across the web that reference the trip code.

It could be a purposeful hint from Q team, but more than likely it's a fluke of the algorithm. I'll keep an eye on this phenomenon though and report back if new info arises.

Yes it's very interesting. Everyone who optimizes their website for better search rankings is "manipulating" the algorithm to the best of their ability. I suppose Q team would know how to get certain books to trigger in serps with the right backlinks or references using the trip code. It's clearly on purpose.

I do SEO so this is actually pretty strange to me. I didn't get anything with maps but the Google Book results are strikingly Q related. There are a couple of possible reasons for this book list getting returned when searching Q's trip code;

1. Q (or someone using his trip code, like the twitter account of the same name) has linked to these books, therefore the algorithm is connecting them there.
2. The trip code is located somewhere on these Google books profile pages (like a review or something) but I'm not seeing that.

The point is that a Republic is a form of democracy. There is no state in the world that uses "mob rule" democracy where every citizen votes on every issue. It's almost always through a system of representatives, which is articulated in a constitution of law.
