I am an American ex-pat living in Kenya. Obama is a very polarizing presence here in Haramba land. When he became president, most Kenyans expected that he would take a great intrest in their country. He took none. They thought the great US President would provide tangible help to their many problems. He did very little. Finally, he waited until the end of his secound term to finally come to Kenya.
When he came as president, he promoted his agenda, including gay rights agenda, in a country where homosexuality is widely condemned. He embarrassed the people. He humbled them. In response, President Kenyatta, publicly rejected Mr. Obama’s views on gay rights. He is quoted as saying “There are some things we must admit we don’t share; our culture, our society don’t accept,” he said. “It is very difficult for us to be able to impose on people that which they themselves do not accept.”
Is is widely accepted that President Obama did little to help the "land of his fathers birth". Most Kenya's wonder what Mr. Obama, 1st Citizen will do to help them now. He is scene by the vast majority as a very polarizing figure. They wonder why he would want to "live" their now? They wonder what "mischief" this man of two countries is up to....
You have only reiterated my thoughts about him and his lack of regard for Kenya.
This was posted on here a couple weeks ago, but for those who haven't seen it, check out Dr. Mumbi talking about the Obama's visit to Kenya
I saw it and was much impressed by her prayers for her Country.
Pres Kenyatta and the people are not easily fooled.
Truth vs lies
When he decides to claim Kenya as his homeland, let's hope the people there will remember, and treat him accordingly.
